Global Journey "Children of Light" Programs

Journey to the Sea Islands

Explore the African-American culture of the Gullah Geechee people through custom textbook content and STEAM activities to include: storytelling, music, arts, science and crafts. The facilitator shares stories of growing up in a Gullah family.  Optional: Children can plant one of the crops harvested by Gullah people.

Journey back in time to learn about the culture of ancient African civilizations. Through custom textbook content and STEAM activities to include: science, research, storytelling, creative arts, and crafts, students will get acquainted with early creators of civilization and their impact on the world today.

Explore the story of Jamaican born Bob Marley and Reggae music. Music was his platform for social consciousness and community — storytelling, music participation, and movement.
